Zara’s Sustainable “Join Life” Exhibition in Milan

Zara presented in its flagship store in Milan an exhibition dedicated to “Join Life”, the way in which the brand expresses its commitment to sustainability.

At the entrance, in transparent methacrylate cases of different sizes, some of the most sustainable raw materials with which the “Join Life” garments are made of are exhibited. Six mannequins flank each display case wearing a selection of “Spring Life” 2019 “Join Life” garments made from the most eco-friendly materials: sustainable Lyocell (from sustainably managed forests, mainly from eucalyptus wood), recycled polyester (produced using plastic bottles used), organic cotton (cultivated using natural fertilizers and pesticides), sustainable linen (grown without artificial irrigation and without genetically modified seeds), recycled textile residues (conventional recycling in which textile residues are shredded and mixed with pure fibers to create new fabrics) – and Zara is collaborating with organizations such as Caritas, Red Cross and MIT, on development projects that allow in the future the recycling of other types of fabric.

A raincoat from the “Recycled Join Life” capsule collection, made with 100% recycled polyester, is the protagonist of the central installation, created using over 20,000 components, equal to 14 cubic meters of plastic parts, fabrics and recycled materials.
