Virgil Abloh Introduces Construction Zine for “Efflorescence” Exhibit

Galerie kreo is currently hosting Virgil Abloh’s “Efflorescence” exhibit, a showcase of brutalist furniture splashed with graffiti motifs. Tying in with the deconstructed objects, innen books has launched a construction zine to accompany the exhibit, appropriately dubbed efflorescence.

The 28-page zine is a collection of black & white photographs highlighting the process that informed works that appear in “Efflorescence,” from the construction of the concrete furniture to the paints selected for the graffiti application. Attributed to “VIRGIL ABLOH™,” the book is packed with detail shots of the hole-ridden rectangular slabs and painted tables, offering a no-frills viewpoint of the craft behind the creation. Limited to a mere 500 copies, efflorescence isn’t Abloh’s first zine release — he recently dabbled in zine culture for 2019’s “Coming of Age” exhibition — but it is his first to be made available for public sale.

Abloh’s efflorescence zine is now available via innen books’ site for €17 EUR shipped internationally (approximately $19 USD).

Most recently, Abloh’s Off-White™ introduced a $415 USD blanket printed with Futura’s spraypainted art.
