Tiffany & Co. is an American’s treasure

Tiffany & Co. have opened their third store in Washington DC Area at CityCenterDC mall, been this store the first in the capital of about 5000 square meters, just a few days before Valentine’s Day.

“Washington D.C. has played a significant role in Tiffany & Co.’s history. Historical figures, presidential leaders and first ladies have donned our designs. In fact, Tiffany designed some of the most important US seals in American history, including the Great Seal of the U.S., which can be seen on the dollar bill” said Alexandra Winokur, vice president of the group.

The store includes a chandelier in blue Tiffany shades and a neon installation by the graffiti artist Faust, with a quote from Charles Louis Tiffany, the founder of the brand, giving to the elegant and polish store a fresh urban air and a modern twist.

“Each element of the store is designed to be captivating and unexpected, yet inviting and evocative of the brand’s rich heritage” “Tiffany’s signature etched wheat-leaf motif is seen throughout, while radial marble floors meet large marble fluted columns that rise up to the grand 14-foot ceilings. To round out the store’s design, custom artwork was created exclusively for this location” said Chief Executive Officer of Tiffany, Alessandro Bogliolo.

“Tiffany & Co.’s first store in Washington D.C, is both significant for our past, given the brand’s great legacy in the nation’s capital, and for our future, as it‘s one of our most important store openings of the year in North America,” said Bogliolo.

To celebrate, they’re hosting an exhibition of important jewels connected to the nation’s history, which will remain open until March 30th. Among the exhibits, Tiffany objects owned by Mary Todd Lincoln, wife of Abraham Lincoln, president Franklin D. Roosevelt and some pieces from Jacqueline Kennedy’s personal collections. Also on display is a brooch with an American flag of diamonds and platinum, as well as various US seals developed by the brand, as we mentioned before.

The exhibition is open to all the public during the store hours and the entrance is free.
