Not only is the creative talent behind Comme des Garçons being honored this year by The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with a retrospective of some of her most avant-garde designs, but the fiercely innovative Japanese designer is also the subject of another equally prestigious exhibition: an installation of her work in Barneys’ New York windows that sets her designs alongside sculptural pieces by iconic artist Louise Bourgeois.
