Coach announces the opening of Coach Play Ipoh, the newest in a series of global Coach Play experiences of immersive concept stores that blend the house’s New York roots with the distinctive charm and character unique to each location. Located at Silverlakes Village Outlet in Malaysia, the opening builds on the house’s venture into crafting interactive and exploratory experiences that captivate the senses—inspired by the expressive spirit of today’s generation. Capturing the wonderous and imaginative landscape of summer camp, the pop-up immerses customers in an interactive world that encapsulates the house’s spirit of playfulness and community. Overlooking a scenic lakeside and spanning 2,516 square feet, the atmosphere draws inspiration from the Adirondacks –an iconic Upstate New York destination—and features alfresco games and activities like cornhole, table tennis and bocce ball. The outdoor space additionally features an extensive seating area, a true-to-size vintage car with a canoe strapped to its roof, a fun photo moment area, and a campsite fire-pit where visitors can come together. Playing with color and texture to create an explorable, hyper-physical in-store experience, the space reimagines Coach’s iconic visual language, heritage of craftsmanship and distinctive New York streetwear sensibility into unique architectural features that nod to Ipoh’s natural landscape. Additional touches of Coach craft include bespoke 3D leather and shearling squirrels playfully placed throughout the store, one-of-a-kind fixture designs featuring visible leather stitch-work and piping unique to each piece, as well as a warm color palette inspired by the golden hour in New York City. Visitors will be able to discover Coach ready-to-wear, leathergoods and accessories uniquely curated for the experience that inspire confidence and authentic self-expression. Coach Play Ipoh will also feature the first Coach Coffee Shop in Malaysia, where customers can enjoy coffee, tea and signature Coach hot chocolate, among others, as well as a menu that spotlights iconic American bites like soft serve in peanut butter & jelly and apple pie flavors. Since Coach introduced its vision of Expressive Luxury in 2022, the brand has continued to transform into a platform for its customers’ self-expression through emotional storytelling grounded in its brand purpose “The Courage to Be Real” as well as creating experiences that encourage play and exploration, engaging customers through multi-sensory worlds. Inspired by Coach’s vision of Expressive Luxury and its goal to connect with consumers through experiences beyond products, the Coach Coffee Shop in Malaysia is part of a series of global dining experiences the brand will unveil in 2024 and beyond. Customers will also be able to shop a curation of limited-edition Coach Coffee Shop pieces such as The Coach Coffee Shop Canvas Tote Bag, Water Bottle and T Shirt, exclusively available for purchase at select locations around the world. Coach also launches the Coach Play Ipoh digital game where shoppers can participate in a fun essentials hunt surrounding the space. Shoppers who have completed the essentials hunt will receive limited edition stickers.
