PeriscapeVR launches 'first airport VR centre' at JFK T4

Periscape_Paradies18Technology innovator PeriscapeVR has paired with Paradies Lagardère to implement a ‘first-ever’ permanent virtual reality centre at an airport worldwide.

Visitors to the retail lounge at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 4 can now immerse themselves in a ground-breaking, retail-led virtual reality experience.

The interactive PeriscapeVR Experience Center blends technology, luxury retail theatre and original content in freestanding VR Towers with 12 stations.

Five content categories – first time, experience, create, play and cause – offer visitors the chance to discover a virtual wonderland designed by Gensler Architects and powered by Hewlett-Packard.

TIME WELL SPENT

Gregg Paradies, President and CEO, Paradies Lagardère commented: “Paradies Lagardère has always been committed to delivering the ultimate customer experience in our retail and dining establishments.

“With technology such as virtual reality at our fingertips, we’re excited to expand and enhance the customer experience at airports throughout North America through innovation.

“PeriscapeVR has been a fantastic partner with us in this new offering for travellers, the first of its kind at any airport.”

PersicapeVR Founder and CEO Lynn Rosenthal added: “Travellers often have hours of dwell time between connections, which can be stressful and dull. PeriscapeVR Experience Center is focused on taking them on a journey that’s both blissful and fun.”

Prices vary from $1-$2 per minute and the experiences last approximately five to ten minutes each.

The stations also offer facilities for storing luggage and personal items.
