Miu Miu has hosted a unique ”Tennis Day’ in St Tropez. The one-day event showcased sets from their Fall Winter 2022 collection and acts as a day for friends of the house to indulge in Miu’s Miu’s style and aesthetic while celebrating the heritage and nostalgia of Miu Miu’s 90s design. Located in a retro-styled tennis court, the exclusive event saw guests sporting iconic Miu Miu micro-minis, polo tops and sports-inspired shirt dresses — a true triumph of vintage redux.
Moving away from the workwear-inspired collection of previous seasons, Miu Miu comes back with a re-invented, ubiquitous silhouette from their latest runway. The serve this season (no pun intended) was the sporty interpretation of the iconic Miu Miu micro-minis; with a narrower waistband and pleated cotton, it was paired with classic polos that were lined with the classic blue and red of athleisure. On the day of the event, models channelled their inner tennis pro as they posed and showed off their tennis skills on the court.
Fashion bloggers Chiara Ferragni, Veronica Ferraro and Tina Leung, alongside fashion editor Julia Hobbs and model Camille Rowe were seen in attendance as Miu Miu offered guests a full range of leisure activities; from intense tennis matches in the mornings, to dipping your toes in the pool under the afternoon sun, to dancing the night away.
Days following the chic pop-up on Saint-Tropez’s clay courts, Miu Miu brought their A-game to New York’s grassy courts at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, just steps away from the home of the US Open—a venue chosen by Mrs. Prada herself, who is said to have been charmed by the club on a visit in recent years.
The Americana-meets-South of France-meets-nightclub energy was fueled by mini lobster rolls (to die for), shortcakes, and Champagne. Miu Miu branded tennis balls volleyed between guests, including Ella Emhoff, Amalie Gassmann, Jenny Walton, and Emily Didonato. Most were donned in the brand’s Fall/Winter tennis-inspired collection (micro-skirts included). In the background, the rhythm of Mona Matsouka’s house beats flowed.
Fellow tennis enthusiasts (at least for the day) included Richie Shazam, Orion Carloto, Alix Vernet, Brianna Lance, Hailey Gates, Lindsay Vrckovnik, Destiny Joseph, Tanner Reese, Gabrielle Richardson, and Brigitte Lacombe.
