Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche invites you to explore the world of books at its new free exhibition from February 24 to April 21, 2024. Orchestrated by Sarah Andelman, co-founder of the iconic colette and publisher of “Just An Idea Books”, the “Mise en Page” installation unveils items from bookshops around the world, alongside exclusive collaborations, exhibitions and literary animations.

Before you dive headfirst into your bedside book, make a detour to Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, which will unveil its new theme, dedicated to theworld of books, from February 24 to April 21, 2024. For almost two months, the department store will be transformed into a promised land for lovers of extraordinary stories!
The event, orchestrated by jack-of-all-trades Sarah Andelman, brings together bookshops from all over the world for a boundless immersion between the lines of the finest works. Co-founder of the emblematic colette and publisher of Just An Idea Books, a collection of books celebrating atypical artists, Sarah intends to convert Parisians to her passion for printing and collaborations, withexhibitions and offbeat exclusive products.
The introduction to the“Mise en Page” installation begins on the first floor with a stroll through famous bookstores such as The Strand and Pillow-Cat Books in New York, Cow Books in Tokyo, and Book/shop in Oakland, with their collectible souvenir products. In these aisles, tote-bags are becoming the new it-bags, alongside exclusive, eye-catching bags such as the Livre de Poche format from Longchamp or the Kindle pouch from L/UNIFORM.
The next chapter takes place on the other side of the iconic escalators, where ultra-cool collaborationswill capture trend addicts and rapidly approach sell-out. Book-inspired items by Assouline x Casetify, Gallimard x Brigitte Tanaka, AMI, Maison Kitsuné, Marin Montagut, Inoui and even À la mère de Famille, not to mention jewelry and beauty selections.
On the second floor, we return to the heart of the matter with“Just An Idea Books & Friends“, presented by Sarah Andelman. On offer are five new books to complete the collection, photo exhibitions by Charles Bebert and RK, Yorgo Tloupas’ foundry, “literary concrete” furniture byAline Asmar from Amman, and many other equally crazy artistic creations.
As for the cover, Jean Jullien will be in charge! From the shop windows to the second floor, via the escalator and the glass roof, the artist will have his giant sculptures (“Paper People”) dancing in every nook and cranny of Le Bon Marché, and will even set up a coffee shop, Café Nounou, right next to the bookshop.
Finally, there will be book signings, book clubs, conversations between bookshops and workshops for children throughout the exhibition. So get ready to be swept up in this literary odyssey, where every page holds a wild surprise!
