Kate Spade Opens Jewelry Store in London

Kate Spade New York has launched its inaugural stand-alone jewelry store at Paddington Square Shopping Centre, situated near the recently renovated train station.

Spanning a modest 290 square feet, the store’s design pays homage to the grandeur of Manhattan apartment blocks. Marble checkerboard floors and freshly lacquered walls in Kate Spade’s signature green evoke the upscale ambiance of the city’s fashionable neighborhoods.

Liz Fraser, CEO and brand president of Kate Spade, highlighted the rapid growth of the jewelry category within the company, prompting the decision to trial a dedicated space.

“We’ve identified jewelry as a robust category for customer acquisition, attracting new, often younger consumers to the Kate Spade New York brand,” Fraser explained.

She added, “It has also proven popular for gifting, with styles ranging from everyday luxuries to special occasion pieces.”

The brand’s jewelry collection features a diverse array of designs, including adorned florals, butterflies, and leaping frogs, alongside understated studs and bangles, priced from $29 to $350.

“We see significant opportunities to capitalize on this momentum and solidify the jewelry category as a key growth driver globally. We’re focusing on expanding in key international markets,” Fraser noted.

“In addition to our direct-to-consumer channels, we’re expanding our reach through new wholesale partnerships, both in North America and internationally, including [Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India],” she elaborated.

Encouraged by positive feedback from UK consumers regarding the jewelry line, Fraser indicated that the store will serve as a testing ground for potential future brick-and-mortar expansions dedicated to this category.
