Asian developer New World Development has announced the groundbreaking of K11 Musea, a new museum-retail complex located at the heart of Hong Kong’s $2.6 billion Victoria Dockside project. Conceived as the anchor of the 3 million-sq.-ft. development, the forthcoming hub will serve as part of the effort to reinvigorate the waterfront when it arrives in mid-2019.
James Corner Field Operations and Kohn Pederson Fox will collaborate on the architecture of the 10-story structure, which will be constructed with a façade clad with living walls. More than 50,000 sq. ft. of greenery will be created on-site, while an outdoor amphitheater will accommodate a variety of culture programs.
