On March 25, Colorado Governor Jared Polis announced that states would have to take an unprecedented role in securing their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Five days later, Fusion announced Project Covid Halo, a medical face shield manufacturing project born out of the sheer willingness to help solve the critical need of medical equipment in the Colorado healthcare community during the Covid-19 pandemic. “In just five days, our entire team pulled together prototypes, costs, manufacturing processes, and outreach efforts, essentially changing our business approach to bring Project Covid Halo to life. We thought it might be harder than it actually was; the desire to help was a huge motivator for everyone involved.”, says Ellen Johnson, SVP of Sales and Creative.
Fusion has been in direct contact with Federal and State officials, task forces, several major hospital systems, and other municipalities and organizations. And one thing is very clear, healthcare organizations need their community’s help. With the severe lack of PPEs and federal funding, many across the country cannot keep up with the demand. Fusion is able to provide the face mask kits but the hospitals need funding, so we have provided a way for the public to donate these kits.
With every $11 kit donation, you provide one medical personnel with an opportunity to continue the fight against Covid-19 without the fear of infection. Face shield kits are made for sterilization & reuse avoiding unnecessary waste, shortages, and extra costs, which is a large advantage for healthcare workers.
