The world’s first Dyson Demo Store – Beauty Lab has opened at Funan. Singapore remains a desired destination for the British tech brand; its standalone store joins its headquarters, the Dyson Singapore Technology Centre. It will soon be joined by its corporate head office, an announcement the brand made in January this year. Jim Dyson, CEO of Dyson, calls Singapore “a critical base for the research, design, development and manufacture of future technologies”.
The store is a godsend for ardent fans of the brand, as it allows visitors to experience its high-tech tools firsthand and enjoy in-store styling services. Graeme McPherson, Dyson’s Head of Personal Care Category, highlights the importance of people being able to test and experience the technology, to truly understand how it works. Book an appointment online or walk in for a styling session.
Also on display at the store are new styling attachments to accompany its steady lineup of tools. The gentle air dryer delivers a softer airflow for fast airdrying, while protecting fine hair, gentle scalps and coloured locks from fading.
Its classic attachments are also seeing a reengineering. The second-generation diffuser has a two-tiered mesh system that allows for even distribution of airflow — therefore allowing more defined curls — and longer prongs to direct hot airflow away from the scalp and onto the hair. Complement your new buys with customised products and cases — you’ll be able to pick a case in the colour of your choice.
According to Jim Dyson, CEO of Dyson, “the opening of our first Dyson Demo Store – Beauty Lab is testament to our approach in bringing hair science and technology to life for people in Singapore. This space allows us to get closer to our Singaporean owners, to better understand their needs, and to help them experience our technology in a Dyson environment.”
