Disney Presents A Holiday Fairy Tale at Saks Fifth Avenue

Last night, Saks Fifth Avenue revealed its holiday windows at their iconic flagship building in front of Rockefeller Center in New York City. The theme for this year is “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and it has more than 10 windows with different scenes of the story.

The window installation entitled “Once Upon a Holiday” takes Snow White as a reference in homage to the 80th anniversary of the movie released on December 21st of 1937 by Walt Disney; their first full-length animated feature film. It also aims to celebrate designers such as Alberta Ferretti, Naeem Khan, Monique Lhuillier, and Marchesa, who have created one-of-a-kind gowns to dress the Princess and the Wicked Queen.

This is the first time that Saks Fifth Avenue showcases amazing dresses and accessories of top brands in the fashion industry with a digital experience comprising of screens with 3-D effects, animations, and interactive lights that react to pedestrians walking in front of the windows.

This is not the first time Saks Fifth Avenue has been inspired by princesses and fairy tales in their windows. In March 2015 they displayed a collection of almost a hundred luxury designer shoes over white velvet cushions and costume dresses from the live action Cinderella Movie. For the holidays of 2014, it showcased scenes from classic fairy tales reproduced in various New York City locations such as Rapunzel living at the classic Empire State Building and Snow White’s stepmother selling poison apples in front of the bright Broadway billboards, among others.

Certainly the Saks Fifth Avenue windows for this year’’s holiday will be a show that everybody will enjoy throughout the evening; as it features Christmas carols, and a collection of windows with impressive lighting shows projected onto the facade of their building containing more than 300,000 lights.

Here’s a preview of last night’s launch.
