Casa Loewe Takeover in Seoul

Our new CASA LOEWE Seoul brings together LOEWE pieces alongside a curated selection of artworks. Korean artist and 2022 LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize winner Dahye Jeong’s work, ‘A time of Sincerity,’ is created from horsehair using a 500-year-old hat-making technique, allowing for a balance of precision, transparency, and lightness. Climbing through the centre of the space, Tanabe Chikuunsai IV’s bamboo installation, ‘Source of Creation,’ symbolises the interplay between fashion and art, the two realms of creativity represented by bamboo cylinders rising up through the CASA and growing into one. 2019 LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize finalist Youngsoon Lee’s ‘Cocoon Top series-1’ stands nearly two metres tall, constructed from Korean mulberry paper and consisting of eight stacked baskets, exploring the artist’s unique view on shape and understated artisanal beauty.
