In light of Men’s Fashion Week, Gucci and contemporary art magazine KALEIDOSCOPE recently launched a special pop-up installation at Article in Milan courtesy of Spazio Maiocchi. The event also commemorates the publication’s SS19 issue entitled YUNG PALM designed by Harmony Korine.
The multi-collaborative space is an immersive installation envisioned by Korine’s close friend and founder of the Secret Celluloid Society, Nayib Estefan. The atmosphere takes inspiration from a vintage arcade-meets-video store, essentially mimicking the iconic Nite Owl Theater in Miami, Florida. “Estefan’s eccentric moviegoing destination in the Miami Design District, the installation mixes high and low, nostalgia and futurism, celebrating the escapist cinema from the late ‘80s that provided a formative influence to Korine,” said the publication in a statement.
View the installation above and then visit KALEIDOSCOPE’s website for further details. The pop-up is on view through June 23 at Artifact c/o Spazio Maiocchi.
