Samsung Targets Major US Cities With Experiential Store Openings – PSFK

Samsung is bringing experiential retail to consumers on both coasts. The Experience Stores opened in New York, Houston, and Los Angeles on February 20, 2019, and will be followed by a series of popup shops in malls across the country.

The stores will host a variety of Samsung products, from smartphones to SmartThings devices, as well as feature in-store assistants to help customers and a repair shop. And they’re not called experience stores for nothing: The locations will include 4D virtual reality headsets that customers can don to play with others in the Samsung 4K gaming lounge.

Samsung will also have its newest 8K T.V.s on display and will let customers create their own augmented reality emojis for use on their smartphones even after they’ve left the store. The launch of the experience stores comes in reaction to the retailer’s stunted phone sales and serves as its way to connect more directly with customers.
