Since early December, Swedish home goods retailer, Ikea, has been teasing the prospect of a second New York location, in Manhattan. Today we learned that Ikea’s Planning Studio will open its doors at 999 Third Avenue on April 15th.
Ikea’s Planning Studio will focus on providing small space living solutions and will have experts available by appointment to help with small space design projects. Anything purchased at the Planning Studio will be delivered straight to the customer’s home.
Ikea will launch an online and mobile booking tool for customers to schedule appointments to maximize their time and make full use of the studios services and planning specialists.
“It will give customers the opportunity to discover, select and order Ikea products for delivery to their home, which is what we know city residents want and need,” a spokesperson for the brand told Business of Home.
“We are excited to have a physical presence in the vibrant design community in New York City. The Planning Studio will provide New York customers options for affordable, functional home furnishing solutions designed with small space living in mind.”
