BookXcess is definitely one of the biggest go-to bookstores in the Klang Valley with some of the best deals in town. Now, the popular local book chain has just expanded its business outside of the Klang Valley for the first time ever, and opened a brand new store in Penang!

In a press statement announcing the book store’s highly anticipated launch, BookXcess announced that it opened its eighth store at Gurney Paragon Mall. An excerpt from the book chain’s statement reads,
“Dubbed ‘The House of a Million Stories’, the bookstore is a dream come true for customers in the Northern Region as they are now able to purchase a wide range of quality English books at 50% – 80% off recommended retail price.”
On top of its impressive collection of books, this new outlet also features the longest bookshelf in Malaysia, measuring at 70 metres in length, as well as another two-storey tall bookshelf! Sounds like it could rival that huge library in Beauty and the Beast, wei!

On top of that, this BookXcess also features augmented reality books!

The entire Gurney Paragon outlet is 26,000 square feet, taking up the entire 7th floor and part of the 8th floor, complete with a children section that has a beautiful view of the ocean! Apart from comfortable reading areas, there’s even a cafe inside the giant bookstore called Café Wolf, where readers can sip some coffee or grab a bite to eat while reading a book.

BookXcess’ Gurney Paragon outlet is also a place where charitable customers can help the less fortunate. The store’s Red Readerhood corner allows customers to buy and donate a book to the needy. Each book donated by a customer will be matched by BookXcess with another book. These books will go to House of Hope, The Salvation Army, St. Joseph’s Home and Hope Worldwide Penang.
