Glastonbury might have been cancelled this year thanks to COVID-19, but Stella Mcartney is hosting her own digital music festival to kick it off the top spot. Headlined by Kelis, Taylor Hawkins and Brian Wilson, with performances from Soko, Zuri Marley, Chloe x Halle and more, the digital festival is runnning from 9-12th July, with the aforementioned artists recording their performances at home to be played on Stella McCartneys’ digital channels and newly launched TikTok platform.
“Artists from our community have come together to create a festival that is truly global – using technology and social media to bring the mosh pit onto your mobile,” commented Stella McCartney.” While I was sad not to see Dad and all the other great performers at Glastonbury this year, we have put together an incredible line up and are raising our voices to end violence against women, a cause more urgent now than ever.”
Produced in partnership with Mastercard, in support of of The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), artists will also be offering exclusive experiences in Stellafest’s charity auction hosted here. Prizes include a virtual studio visit with Stella McCartney, a cooking class with Kelis, and a signed copy of Alicia Key’s new book – and the chance for a 10 minute discussion with the star. This is more than just a festival, it’s an immersive experience you won’t be forgetting.
